FRASER ISLAND NEEDS OUR HELP
April 24, 2008
Fraser Island Conference 2nd & 3rd August 2009Message from John Sinclair, Fraser Island Defenders Organisation (FIDO):
“We already have the very eminent coastal geomorphologist and member of the Wentworth Group of environmental scientists, Prof. Bruce Thom, as our keynote speaker but we are keen to hear about any work, research or new information relevant to Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Region to consider for inclusion on the Conference program. (It won’t come around again for another two years).
Please let us know in the form of an abstract if you would like to contribute to this conference or if you know someone who could contribute a paper please urge them to contact us urgently. We are particularly keen to have contributions from anyone who might have information about environmental issues and impacts in the marine ecosystems of the Great Sandy Region as well as issues affecting natural resource management in the
terrestrial areas of the Great Sandy Region.
We are prepared to extend the time for receipt of abstracts now to 9th May but we are anxious for the main contents of our program to start to take shape as soon as possible. Register your interest at
